Time versus Money Management

It is so confusing in the current day world where everybody speaks of MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY.

Speaking is okay, but making the people to confuse a lot as to how to earn money, spend and save money, is a lot more confusing.

People say - everybody whoever talks the word 'M O N E Y' is a "GURU".

One Guru says and claims the other Guru as bad or not right.

i) For eg. one of the Guru's (I don't want to name.. since everybody is aware) that Credit Cards are good for excellent leveraging...

ii) Other Guru says Credit Cards are the main culprits that take Humans to Hell and not to use them. Use our own diligence to curtail expenses and clear the debts and save in all walks of day-to-day living.

iii) Still other Guru's say that they don't agree with (i) and (ii) and the only way is not to save one dollar in a lunch or dinner but to have additional earning means.
I myself got confused and landed with the Guru at point(iii) above. Once I landed onto the feet of the third Guru, just within one day, I came to know that the same stereo type messages are given.. and still worser,
A crude example (this is not so worse, but to make people aware, I am quoting this from my own version) is "Don't cut your nails every week, so that your nail cutter life can be increased. Instead of buying 5 nail cutters in your entire life, you can live with only 3 nail cutters, by the savings you made by not cutting your nails".
So, where is this world going!!!!
Some where we sould learn to be "Calm". Earning, Spending, Saving by themselves are not good or bad or dangerous, but the Guru's make them so.
In this process, one's own life is lost. At the age of retirement we look at the landscape. Just read my other posting on Time Management as to how we should utilize our time. To be frank enough "Time is Money" and your earning/spending/savings depends on "How calmly you are managing your time". A worried person is sure to not earn, not save but spend on unnecessary things. Frankly speaking - we don't need any Guru's on finance. A baby of 2 years knows how to be calm and not to get a 'Time out' and to get a chocolate from the parents. If the same princple of 'being calm' is applied, we can earn on our own millios of chocolates!
You will hear more in this direction in my further postings as to how we can be calm while doing any activity.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Why and What is it so great about time. From times immemorial time has been discussed time and again.
Conventionally Management means Manage-men-(with)-Techniques. (I mean men is a common term applied for persons i.e., it includes men and women.
But now, in the present day world, we must agree that Management means Manager-Men-(with)-TIME.
I don’t readily remember the author name, but one of the Authors of a financial book has written the following 3 lines on Time Management which are very apt. If this one principle alone is applied in our lives, we would never have to look back in our lives - and everything will be an achievement - as long as 3 lines are applied to strictly: The three lines are:
YESTERDAY is a cancelled cheque (no use of a spilled over milk)
TOMORROW is a pronote (not sure whether the promissory note will be honoured or not).
BUT, TODAY is Cash on Hand. We must make use of today to the fullest extent.

I am sure that many of our members/readers have been applying their own time management principles in their day-to-day lives either in their offices or in their homes. It would be better if those proven techniques are shared in this forum.
Note: Many persons whom I met/know have been following the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People in letter and deed. But since the book is a voluminous one, practical examples from the real lives will greatly benefit not only our members bu the public at large.
Please do share your time management experiences as a comment/reply to this link.

Jokes for your entertainment

Joke-2: Interest:
After auditing a trust, an Auditor raised a non-conformity(NC) ”The Trust is not doing well. The Manager of the Trust should take interest.”. Next year same auditor came and raised a question to the Manager.. what is this? You have not shown interest amounts in any accounts. Manager replied.. Yes Sir, I just did whatever you told me. I have taken the interest portion into my pocket. (Auditor has been admitted to Asylum with this answer!!!).
Joke-3: Spouse:
A competition was going on…subject is “who doesn’t fear for his /her spouse”. The chairperson first raised the hand and announced “Those Whoever fear for their spouses should raise their hands”. All in the hall have raised their hands, except for one person. The chairperson and all other members applauded the only single member that did not raise the hand and were about to garland & reward the person with an award for the bravety. To everybody’s dismay the person quipped “Wait..Wait.. even to raise my hand I would have to get an OK from my spouse, hence could not raise my hand!!!, and I am not fit for this award.

Humour: Joke of the day (errr! evening) - Joke forwarded by our member Vijethareddy K on 04/16/09

Stepped on a Duck Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven… When they get there, St. Peter says, ‘We only have one rule here in heaven: don’t step on the ducks!’ So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one. Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw… St. Peter chains them together and says, ‘Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!’ The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn’t miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman. The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps. She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on…. very tall, muscular and handsome. St. Peter chains them together without saying a word. The happy woman says, ‘I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?’ The guy says, “I don’t know about you, but I stepped on a duck…”

I found something that I think you will like. The company’s name is YouData (youdata.com). They are trying to convince consumers like us that we should be the ones controlling our own data and selling our own attention, not third parties like broadcasters, newspapers, and spammers. By creating a MeFile at YouData.com, I now control what ads I see and when I see them. Best part - I am selling my attention directly to interested advertisers, for real money. That’s right, I get paid for giving them my attention. I can use the funds to buy music and video online, donate to charities, give to my favorite blogs and websites, or keep the change myself and do whatever I want with it.
It’s real. They pay. You should check it out.
Click this link to sign up. My MeFile ID, vvnmurty, in the “Referral Code” will tell them I sent you.

What prompted me to start this site

What forced me to start this Blog.Only one saying from some of my foreign friends who - after looking at me and some other Indian colleagues' excellency in all walks of life - said that "NOT ALL INDIANS ARE SNAKE CHARMERS".While in a way this is a compliment to me and a lot of other Indians at home and abroad, why should there be still an iota of doubt that "SOME INDIANS ARE SNAKE CHARMERS". Gone are those days which are 300 to 400 years before Indian Independence. Now snake-charming is there in many countries where people extract venum scientifically for anti-venum medicine preparations.By any means and by any measure the world has in the present day, we (Indians) are second to none. We are there equally or far ahead of others, in the moon, ocean, orbits everywhere. My main motto of starting this blog is to bring awareness to everybody in the Universe about the strengths. Of course, the one Billion population itself is a strenth. If all the one Billion people breath in and out strong at once that wave itself could create wonders across the globe. Also, to bring awareness of the weaknesses if any using the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) technique by way of fun, jokes and guidelines for utilizing our full strengths and overcoming the minor weaknesses. This would flow like a question and answer sessions between a Babai (a paternal uncle) and Abbai(the brother's son).To conclude - this site is an all-in-all site. It may consist of any language where there is a much gathering of like minded people. The day-to-day postings in this blog itself will speak for themselves and ourselves. Please help me with your valuable comments to make this site as much useful as possible.
Thanks
